# The nursery will be closed for June and July to allow for some much needed job catch-ups. You are welcome to arrange visits by appointment only at this time. Contact via my fb page is the easiest. I will still be attending the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market on Saturdays. Look forward to re-opening from August.
Country Herbals is a specialist Retail Herb Nursery.
With the largest range of unusual herbs in S.A. including culinary, medicinal, dye and scented plants and an ever-changing range of vegie seedlings, leafy greens and flowering annuals , there is always something to plant in any season, for pots or in the garden.
You can find me every Saturday in my regular spot at the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market, Mann St. Mt. Barker, 8.30-12.30. You are welcome to pre-order for collection on the day.
The nursery is open at Woodchester every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday or by appointment.
I have been a member of the Herb Society of S.A. for nearly 30 years, and the annual Herb Day market held at the Fullarton Park Community Centre on the 1st Sunday of November every year is not to be missed.
I love to share my passion for growing and using herbs.
Learn more at one of my workshops starting in 2019. Topics may cover: basic propagation techniques, cooking with herbs, herbal teas, and herbs and vegies for the seasons.
You can also follow my blog page for useful information and growing tips for South Australian conditions.
And don't forget to like my Facebook page to be kept up-to-date with what new herbs and vegetables are available.
I have been living at Woodchester for 14 years. The area is in a rain shadow with an annual rainfall of 14" per annum. The temperate can rise to the high 40C in Summer and as low as minus -5C in Winter. Predomitary sheep and cropping country, with bluestone and limestone rock in many areas with red loam soils. There is no mains water and I rely on rainwater storage for the nursery. Even though it can get quite cold, the climate still allows me to grow a number of tropical herbs under cover, while plants like Capers thrive.
